Samiway is a Sámi tourism business connected to our family livelihood, reindeer herding. We have our winter pastures in Kautokeino,Finnmark and summer pastures on the islands Arnøy and Kågen in Northern Troms. We have been running Samiway for about 10 years, mainly in Kautokeino. Winter 2015 we extended our offers to the county of Troms.


Inger Ellen E. Gaup

Currently working as Assistant professor in Sámi Teacher Education at Sami University of Applied Sciences. She is born and raised in a Sami reindeer herding family. She participate in the work with the reindeer herd and with samiway on vacations and when possible. She do all the sewing of Sami traditional clothing to the familiy.

Works daily actively in reindeer herding and for samiway.no. 


Ánne Kátjá (23)

Currently studying a bachelor degree in TV-directing in Lillehammer. She works also as a photographer and graphic designer. Actively participating in reindeer herding and works for Samiway.no.

Sárá Lea (15)

Going in tenth grade in elementary school. Eagerly participating in the work with the reindeer herd.

Nils Peder I. Gaup

Reindeer herder and self-employed. He is born and raised in a Sami reindeer herding family, in Kautokeino and Arnøy. His informal education is reindeerherding in a traditional sámi way on tundra with the reindeer. He has also a formal eduacation from Sámi University of Applied Sciences, a Bachelor of reindeer herding studies.

He has been working within tourism about 15 years, and have hosted guest in Kautokeino like Norwegian Crown Prince and Princess 2009, Visit of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and HSH Princess Carlene of Monaco, Nordic Combined Norway 2013, Reuters Climate change 2008, VIP tour Statoil 2009, 2012, Olav Thon 2009, Thons chief group 2009.

The last five years he also have been in Tromsø ( Kvaløya) working with reindeersledding together with Tromsø villmarksenter and Sami Camp.

Nils Peder has have acting experience in television and film (Kautokeino opprøret (Kautokeino Rebellion), Disney Channel What a Life, NRK Sámi Mánáid TV (children's program), Hillagurra, Hjerterått, Lillyhammer, etc.
